DOROTHY JEAN HATHCOCK

Dorothy Jean Hathcock, 75, of West Plains, MO passed away July 27, 2019 at Brooke Haven Healthcare in West Plains. She was born April 28, 1944 in Kansas City, KS to Charles and Betty Shinkle.

Dorothy worked for many years at JC Penney in Kansas City as a sales-clerk. She loved watching TV, especially old westerns. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, and creating anything with her hands. She loved visiting with friends and she always wore a smile on her face. She was a very loving and kind-hearted person who will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband James Hathcock; two daughters Debra Huff of West Plains, MO, Angie McKay of Ava, MO; and one grandson Michael Ortiz Jr of West Plains, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband John James Huff.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Amber Tooley officiating. The family will honor Dorothy's request for cremation following the service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
