Dorothy Mae (Johnson) Siler
Ava, MO

Dorothy Mae (Johnson) Siler was born September 3, 1934 at Roy, MO, daughter of Carl
and Euna (Bloomer) Johnson. She departed this life on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at
Heart of the Ozarks Health Center, Ava, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She was a
lifelong resident of the Ava community.

On February 5, 1954, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) James Siler. To this
union four children were born. They shared fifty-seven wonderful years together.

Dorothy was an active member of the Sandy General Baptist Church. She worked for
Spalding Manufacturing in Ava and taught Industrial Sewing for 19 years at Ava High
School. Dorothy's passion was for young people, and she touched the lives of
hundreds of them through sponsorships of Youth for Christ, FHA/HERO, and Pep Club.
Dorothy also taught Sunday School and volunteered at White River Youth Camp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Euna Johnson; one brother,
Kenneth Johnson; and two infant sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Robert (Bob) Siler, of the home; one son,
John W. Siler, and wife Connie of Oldfield, MO; three daughters, Anna Johnson, and
husband Lennie of Ava, MO; Sue Clayton, and husband Kevin of Kirbyville, MO; and
Beth Lawson, and husband Ron of Ozark, MO. Ten grandchildren: Isaiah, Amanda,
Brad, Crystal, Zach, Kendra, Chance, Dakota, Jessica, and Justine and fourteen great-
grandchildren. Seven brothers and sisters: Raymond Johnson and wife Polly of
Prosper, TX; Darlene Davis and husband Merle; Lue Mitchell and husband Mac; Joyce
Harper and husband Wayne; Gary Johnson and wife Sherry; Danny Johnson and wife
Connie, all of Ava;, and Jimmy Johnson and wife Carolyn of Gainesville, MO as well as
a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Dorothy Siler will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in
the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Reverend Frances Humbyrd and Reverend Sue Clayton officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sherrodd Cemetery near Brownbranch, MO. Memorials may be made to Sherrodd Cemetery or donors choice of charity.
