Dorris Roberta Marlatt, 90, Gainesville, MO, passed away on August 5, 2010 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. She was born on March 4, 1920 in McCrory, AR, the daughter of Guy and Minnie (Stoker) Duffel.
On September 3, 1938 she was united in marriage to Leroy Leonard in Knoble, AR. Leroy passed away on May 1, 1996. To this union four children were born. Dorris was a very loving mother to her children. On May 4, 1968, Dorris and Gene Marlatt were married in Crown Point, IN. Gene passed away on August 14, 1984. Dorris was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening; and especially loved watching NASCAR racing. Dorris loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a very sweet and loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Marlatt is survived by two sons Donald Leonard of Gainesville, MO and Richard Leonard of Breeze, IL; one daughter Mary Evans of Caulfield, MO; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister Ola Garrison of Tennessee; one brother Morris Duffel of Searcy, AR; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene Marlatt; one son Jerry Leonard; three sisters; five brothers; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Ron Degonia officiating. Interment will be in the Fowler Cemetery, Caulfield, MO. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House; 701 Burnett Drive; Mountain Home, AR 72653, or left at the funeral home.
