Dortha Christeen Pogue

Dortha Christeen Pogue, 84, of Bruner, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 12th 2006 in her home. Dortha was born November 4th, 1922 in Coffeyville, Kansas the daughter of Robert and Stella Woods Swearingin.

Dortha was married to Kyle Pogue in Ava, Mo. on June 12th, 1942, to this union 6 daughters were born.

Dortha was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter Sharon, her grandson Jeff, and her brother Robert. Also preceding were four sisters, Ada, Josephine, Mildred and Shirley and her step parents, Norman Beeman and Alice Swearingin.

Dortha is survived by her 5 daughters; Shirley Arthur and her husband Ronald, of Willard, Missouri, Bonnie Powell and her husband Bill, of Windsor, Missouri, Beverly Zittle and her husband Charles, of Springfield, Missouri, Patricia Pogue of Springfield, Missouri and Pamela Raubs of Bruner, Missouri. One son-in-law Floyd Arthur of Urbana, Missouri. Three brothers; Norman Beeman of Fair Grove, Missouri, Lonnie Swearingin of Springfield, Missouri, and JR Swearingin of Rogersville, Missouri. One sister, Betty Speaks of Springfield, Missouri. Sixteen Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Great great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Dortha Pogue will be held Friday December 15, 2006 2:00 P.M. in the Union Chapel Church with burial to follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 till 7 P.M. Thursday December 14, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava. Memorial contribution may be made to the Union Chapel Cemetery in memory of Dortha at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri.
