Edith Marie Hickerson

Edith Hickerson,89, of Raytown, MO, passed away on June 14, 2011 in Louisburg, KS. She was born November 19, 1921, in Kansas City, MO to William and Armilda Wangler.

She was a graduate of Paseo High School. Edith married George Thomas Hickerson on October 12, 1940 and worked for The Jones Store for 26 years in accounting. Edith, her husband George, and their son Rodger Lee Hickerson all received Christ at the same time and were baptized at Raytown Baptist Church in 1957.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband George and great-grandson Rodger Neil Hickerson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Rodger and Cynthia Hickerson of Roeland Park, KS; grandson Rodger Neil Hickerson and his wife Kim, and great-grandson Tyler Hickerson of Zanoni, MO.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff of Louisburg Health Care and Rehabilitation for their loving care of Edith in her final years.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Louisburg Chapel in Louisburg, KS. A graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Lilly Ridge Cemetery in Gainesville, MO. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 65, Gainesville, MO 65655. The contributions will be added to the Dora High School golf fund, which was started in her great-grandson's honor.
