Edward Leslie Dean, son of Everrett Dorr Dean and Alice Marion Hanson Dean was born on November 29, 1935 in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota and passed from this life on May 20, 2007 in Cox's Hospital, Springfield, MO at the age of 71 years.

Ed was a resident of Ava for the past five years moving from CA. He was a retired Vice President of West Coast Division of Greif Brothers Co. He worked with them for 45 years. On Dec. 15, 1955 Ed and Marie Soderberg were united in marriage in New Hampton, Iowa and to this union two children were born. Ed was an active volunteer. He served as Past President of Rotary in Morgan Hill, CA and also served for the United Way. Ed donated 17 plus gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed antique farm equipment.
Ed's joy was working on his farm with his wife, Marie in the Ava community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Paul,infant Karl, Roger, Richard Dean and one niece, Marnie Dean.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home in Ava, MO, one son, Michael Allan Dean, Baltimore, Maryland and one daughter, Dawn Marie Dean, Gilroy, CA, three grandchildren, Ingrid and Anthony Dean, Severna Park, Maryland and Christopher Dean, Gilroy, CA, one sister, Alice Dorschner & husband, David, Montevideo, MN, one brother, David Dean & wife, Jeanne, Litchfield, MN and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial service is Tuesday, May 29, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at the Sweden Church, Ava, MO with Pastor Joshua Strong and Rev. Marvin Loftin officiating. A memorial in Minnesota will be June 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at The Assembly of God Church in Litchfield, MN. Family requests memorials to your favorite Hospice or the donor's choice.
