Edwina (Coonts) Schrock

Ava, MO

Edwina Schrock, 88 years, 10 months, and 22 days old, passed to heaven on February 4, 2011 at St.John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO.

Edwina was born March 13, 1922 in Douglas County, MO to Arthur and Carrie (Rhoades) Coonts.

Edwina was a resident of the Ava community for several years. She was retired from working Oscar Mayer Co. in Davenport, IA for 15 years.
On July 25, 1976 Edwina and Lyle Schrock were united in marriage in Muscatine, IA. She returned to Douglas County from Wilton, IA with her husband, Lyle for retirement.

She was a Christian and had been baptized in her home by Rev. Vernon Fuller. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.


Edwina was preceded by her parents, her husband, Lyle in 2001, three brothers, Harley, Cecil & Russell Coonts and three sisters, Betty Critten , Mae Coonts and Vernice Dehaven.


Edwina is survived by two daughters, Karla Rogers, Ava, MO and Faye Carson, Buffalo, IA, four brothers, James Coonts, Ava, MO, Paul Coonts, Wilder, Idaho, Junior Coonts, Buffalo, IA and Jackie Coonts, Norwood, MO, two sisters, Peggy Bell, Lanark, IL and LaVern Brown, Dover, Delaware and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Edwina will be Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Fuller.
