ELAINE WATSON
Elaine Watson was called to be with the Lord on March 17, 2008 at the age of 88. She was born Virgie Elaine Oxley January 29, 1920 to the late John and Ora Oxley, and was united in marriage to Roy Watson September 6, 1950.
Elaine was blessed with six children, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, one sister Moline, three brothers Roy, Ray, and Jay, her eldest daughter Evelyn Beasley, and her great granddaughter Amanda Thomas.
Elaine had a huge heart and a beautiful smile she greeted the world with. She loved her family very much and looked forward to visits, phone calls, and letters. She enjoyed revisiting the past family history and telling stories of yester year. Her dearest stories were of growing up on her family farm near Almartha, MO., and about raising her six children.
Elaine liked to bake and was known for her cooking. She could make anything look delicious and melt in your mouth. Her grandchildren nicknamed her Grandma Pie because she always made wonderful pies for Sunday dinner. She had the ability to take a little from scratch and make the most wonderful and fulfilling meal in which everyone walked away satisfied.
Another passion of Elaine's was gardening. She loved to put out a huge garden and fill her yard with flowers. She liked to get up early to weed her sweet potatoes and pick her fresh produce which she often shared with those around her. She took pride in her ability to grow pretty and productive gardens and spent endless summer afternoons on her front porch snapping beans, cutting slaw, and shucking corn. She enjoyed canning and loved to take people down to her cellar to show them the fruits of her labor.
Elaine was a very spiritual person and faithfully served her Lord. She attended and was a member of the Barron Fork Church of Christ. She believed prayer was a powerful tool and loved to spend Saturday evenings on her front porch reading her bible. She loved gospel music and loved to sing songs as she worked.
As family and friends gather to remember her life there is one thing that is certain, we will all miss her greatly, but heaven is a brighter and happier place because she is there.
