ELIZABETH "LIZ" MACMILLAN

Funeral services for Liz MacMillan, 53, of Wasola, MO will be held at Needmore Church of God in Dora, Mo at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 with Betty Stanley officiating. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.

Liz passed away on June 3, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born on April 5, 1959, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Joseph Omar and Harriet Bradley.

She grew up a full southern California girl, enjoying the warm sands of the beaches she called home. In 1986, Liz found herself drawn in by the beautiful hills of the Ozarks. She looked around for a house and the minute she laid eyes on the little house in Souder, she knew it would become home for the next twenty years, maybe longer. On April 14, 1993, she married Bill MacMillan, and later had two children, Katy and Chelsea. In the time between moving to the Ozarks and marrying, Liz raised goats and crops and made friends with everyone she came across. She will always be remembered as a strong, creative, wonderful woman who was honest with everyone and told it like it was. She was a loving mother, wife, cousin, aunt, daughter, and sister-in-law.

Liz is survived by her two children, Chelsea Ann MacMillan and Katharine (Katy) Colleen MacMillan. She is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Scott MacMillan, and her mother and father, Harriet Bradley and Joseph Omar Bradley.

Memorial Contributions can be made to help pay funeral expenses. A Memorial College Fund for Katy and Chelsea has been set up at Century Bank of the Ozarks, PO Box 68; Gainesville, MO 65655. Arrangements and services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
