Ella May Daugherty,   89 years, 4 months, 27 days old, passed away on October 9, 2021 at Moberly, Missouri at her daughter's home with her family by her side.

Ella May was born May 12, 1932 in Drury, MO to Theodore and Dorothy (Bunch) Hurst.

Ella May was a housewife and homemaker.

On July 6, 1953 Ella May and Joseph Gerald LeRoy were united in marriage and were blessed with four children. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1986. She later married Bud Daugherty on Oct. 4, 1994 and he also preceded in death on Jan. 20, 2009.

She was a longtime Christian who was actively involved in several churches in her community.

Ella May was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Joseph and Bud, her infant son, David Gerald LeRoy, son-in-law, Larry Hutchison, siblings, O'Neal Luellen, Agnes Williams, Anna Collins and  J.W. "Billy" Hurst.

Ella May is survived by her three children, Patty Stephens (Joe) of Galena, MO, Debbie Hutchison of Moberly, MO and Tracy Griffith (David) of Thornfield, MO,  six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Bert (Dean) Scherer of Drury, MO, many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Per Ella May's wishes her cremation will be conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A family gathering for her cremated remains burial will in the Hurst Cemetery at a later date and time. Family requests memorials to be made to the Hurst Cemetery Fund, HC 73, Box 71A, Drury, MO 65638 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
