Ellen Elaine Bishop

Wichita, KS

Ellen Elaine Bishop, 83 years, 2 months, 5 days old, passed peacefully on August 7, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with her family by her side.

Elaine was born June 2, 1939 in Douglas County, MO to Herbert Lyle        and Jewel Elizabeth (Cline) Shinpaugh.

She was Christian and raised in the Baptist faith. On June 2, 1955 Elaine and Eugene "Gene" Bishop were united in marriage and they were blessed with two children, Gene Jr. and Sandy.  Elaine worked with Gene in his dental supply company and did just about anything that needed to be done.

She loved bowling and would jump at the chance to bowl with her friends and family anytime. She enjoyed visiting with people.  Her family adored her and she loved them dearly.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene in 2006 and her sister, Wilma.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gene Jr. & Suzy Bishop of Wichita, KS and Sandy & Rex Sparrow of Eastborough, KS;     grandchildren, Satina Goodwin, Cassie Bishop, Branda Bishop, Darian Bishop, Savanna Sparrow and Colby Sparrow; great grandchildren, Waylon, Austyn, Rylan, Rogan, Rocky, and Ruby; a brother, Carl Shinpaugh of TX,  other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Elaine will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.  in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, 407 N. Mansfield Rd., Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
