Ellen Jean Carson

Ellen Jean Carson, 67 years, 6 months, 27 days old, passed away August 2, 2018 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center.

Ellen was born January 6th, 1951 in Sacramento, CA to Allen Arthur and Naomi Beulah (Davis) Vandenberg. She graduated high school in Ava, and afterwards she worked at Emerson and volunteered at Heart of the Hills Food Harvest. She also worked at Ava Place for many years, and raised cattle. In 1971, Ellen and Jack Carson were united in marraige at Davis Naval Base in Rhode Island and to this union three children were born.

Ellen was a Christian. She was also a very talented artist and devoted daughter who took care of her mother for many years. She enjoyed her artwork and taking care of animals, often taking in stray animals and giving them a home. Lately, she had been involved with raising and selling exotic birds.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, two children, James Allen and Sharon Marie Carson. She is survived by her son, Timothy Carson of Springhill, FL, a brother, Donald Vandenburg of Wisconsin, close friends Jack Carson of Springhill, FL, and Jerry Campbell of Ava, MO, three grandchildren, Jace, Cassandra, and Ava, all of Springhill, FL, and other family and friends who will miss her.

A Memorial Services for Ellen will be Friday, August 10 ^th, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A visitation will be from 5:00 pm to service time. Pastor Larry Vinson will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society
