ELZA LOFTIS

Funeral services for Elza Loftis, 88, of Gainesville, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Gale Wooten and Halbert Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 2nd. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery.

Elza passed away on April 29, 2017 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born March 1, 1929 in Theodosia, MO, the son of Clifford and Ola (Johnson) Loftis. He was a veteran, having served in the Army, Korea, 1951-1952, plus six years Active Reserves. He was telephone lineman and farmer. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Loftis was a Christian.

He is survived by four children, Lowana Collins and husband Ted of Gainesville, Sheena Grisham and husband Gary and Carolyn Hambelton and husband Roger all of Dora, and Tommy Loftis and special friend Susan of Gainesville; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; one sister Bonnie Sisney of Wichita, KS; two brothers Paul Loftis and wife Peggy and Eugene Loftis and wife Frances all of Gainesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Sims.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital; Sims Cemetery; or Three Rivers Hospice and may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
