ELZETTA BETTS
Elzetta Betts, Springfield, MO passed on to heaven February 10, 2009 in Springfield, MO at the age of 85 years. She was born on February 4, 1924 in Oakland, AR the daughter of Elonzo and Eula (Due) Wilbanks.
On June 2, 1949 she married Stanley Betts in Fort Smith, AR. They spent the next forty years together until Stanley's death in 1989. Elzetta worked outside the home for a few years, but most of her life was dedicated to being a wonderful housewife. She was a member of the Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield.
Elzetta is survived by her two brothers Burl Wilbanks of Owasso, OK and Joe Wilbanks of Independence, MO; one step-daughter Marilyn Crabb and husband Kenneth of Olive Branch, MS; two step-grandchildren Melissa Boone of Southaven, MS, and Donna Price of Olive Branch, MS; and seven step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Betts; her parents Elonzo and Eula Wilbanks; and one sister Fatha Griffin.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with John Page officiating. Interment will be in the Pontiac Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1PM to service time.
