Emma Ellen Clinkingbeard, 78, passed away March 23 with her family by her side. She was married to the love of her life, Louis Oliver Clinkingbeard, Jr., for 57 years and together, they raised four daughters who were their pride and joy.

Emma was a department manager at JC Penney in North Kansas City. Prior to retirement, she drove a school bus for the North Kansas City School District for many years and was dearly loved by students, teachers, and administrators. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Oliver Clinkingbeard, Jr., her parents Lester (Ted) and Genevieve Cornelius and is survived by her brother and his wife, Sterling and Shirley Cornelius, her daughters and their husbands, Helen and Harry Rehkop, Jr., Marjorie and Patrick McGinty, Linda and Roger Penland, Deborah and James Flack, 10 grandchildren: Hal, Crystal, Sarah, Mark, Valerie, Megan, Ryan, Kyle, Lauren, and Austin, 6 great-grandchildren, 5 nieces, and numerous friends.

Services will be Friday, March 26, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at Church-Archer-Pasley F.H., Liberty, MO. Visitation and service at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO Saturday, March 27, beginning at 1:00 pm followed by graveside service in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO with Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Her daughters would like to thank Emma's Garden Terrace family and staff for their friendship and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Heart Association or Heart of America Alzheimer's Association.
