Emma Nell Hester, 93 years, 10 months, and 20 days old, passed to Heaven on November 27, 2013 at Glenwood Healthcare, Seymour, MO.
Emma was born January 7, 1920 in Jonesboro, AR to Walter and Annie (Smith) Hendrix. She lived in Jonesboro until 2001, when it was needful for her to move to Ava to be close to her oldest daughter.
Emma married Aubrey Hester at Jonesboro, AR in 1942 and they were blessed with three children.
Emma attended the Church of God (Holiness) all her life, in Jonesboro as well as Ava. She loved singing and going to church. Emma was always faithful in giving her testimony.
Emma was preceded by her parents, Walter and Annie Hendrix, husband Aubrey Allen Hester, two brothers, and five sisters,
Emma is survived by two daughters, Linda Ferguson, Ava, MO, and Emma Jane Hall, Biloxi, MS, and one son, Charles "Chuck" Hester, Jonesboro, AR, five grandchildren, and six great-gandchildren.
We sorrow not as others do,
Whose hopes fade like the flowers;
There is a hope that's born of God,
And such a hope is ours.
Funeral services for Emma will be Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Visitation will be from Friday, November 29th, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Thompson Sr. and Rev. Robert Thompson Jr..
Jonesboro, Arkansas visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.at Rollers-Farmers Union Funeral Home, Jonesboro, AR. with burial following at Trinity Cemetery, Bono, AR. at 4:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to Mt Zion Bible School.
