Emma E. Johnson, 98, Isabella, MO passed away on September 4, 2010 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center, Gainesville, MO. She was born on September 10, 1911 in Butler County, MO, the daughter of John and Mary Rains.
She was married to Benjamen (Bill) Leroy Hasty in November of 1930. They had one son Paul E. Hasty. She and Benjamen lived at State Park Ill, St Louis, MO. They moved in 1951 to Centerville, MO where Emma ran a café, (she made the best Chicken n dumplings any one ever had; and pies.) Bill ran a service station and a propane company. Benjamen passed away in 1958. She married Carl Leo Johnson in 1963. Carl passed away in 1980. Emma lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Henderson, NV. They moved to Isabella, MO in 2001. She lived with them for fifteen years, before she became a resident of Gainesville Health Care Center. She was a wonderful Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great grandmother and she is going to be missed by all that ever knew her. She was such a sweet Lady.
Preceding Emma in death were her parents; six brothers; six sisters; two husbands Benjamen Hasty and Carl Johnson; and one grandson Neal Hasty.
She is survived by one son Paul Hasty and his wife Doris of Isabella, MO; grandson Mark Hasty and wife Christian of Winfield, MO; two granddaughters Paula Chitwood and husband Marlin of Columbia, MO and Karen Polanowski and husband Robert of Ellington, MO; great grandchildren Jason Hasty, Katherine Hasty, Jennifer Martin, Nathan Hill, Terra Louis, Nicholas Polanowski, Nicole Heart; ten great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
No local services are planned. Cremation services are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. A Graveside service will be held in Ellington, MO at a later date.
