Emmitt George Lafferty

Emmitt George Lafferty, 1 year, 3 months, and 17 days old, passed away on June 28, 2025,  at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Emmitt was born March 11, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri to Chris and Shelby (Lewis) Lafferty.

Emmitt loved attending Cold Creek Cowboy Church. He liked playing with the other kids at the church.  He loved his little brother and would steal his binky and blanket and at the same time would give him hugs and kisses everyday.

Emmitt loved horses and cows.  He liked riding, roping, and playing with his dog.

He was best known for his infectious smile and never knew a stranger.  He loved everyone he ever met.  If he would have lived, he would have followed in his dad and grandpa's footsteps.  He would have farmed with his dad, like his dad did with his grandpa.  He would have lived on a farm and taken care of all kinds of critters and learned to ride horses.

Emmitt was preceded in death by his great grandparents, George and Helen Fraley, George and Lola Lafferty, Lanny Powell; great-great grandparents, Ernie and Margaret Willard; and cousin, Viola Cunningham.

Emmitt is survived by his parents, Chris and Shelby Lafferty; brother, Andrew Joseph Lafferty; grandparents, Christopher, Sr. and Sarah Lewis, Jerry and Frances Lafferty; great grandmother, Starla Powell; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Emmitt will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Cold Creek Cowboy Church in Mansfield, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 PM to service time.  Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery in Douglas County, Missouri.  Officiating will be Pastor John Williams, Jr. Memorials may be made to the family as a love offering.
