Emogene Snell, 86
Funeral services for Emogene (Nance) Snell, 86, of Willhoit, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to service time. Mrs. Snell died Wednesday, February 11, in Gainesville. She was born September 27, 1928 in Romance, Mo., to Henry Oscar "H.O." and Lena Nance.
The family relocated to Smackout, MO then eventually moved to Willhoit, Mo. She married Dale Snell, her husband for 60 + years, on January 22, 1951, in Mtn. Home, Ark. After graduating from Gainesville High School, Mrs. Snell was a lifelong resident of Willhoit except for a few years when she and her husband lived in Wichita, Kansas. After moving back to Ozark County, Mrs. Snell and her husband lived and worked on their farm in Willhoit until retirement. In addition to farming, she was an incredible cook, worked the family garden raising fruits and vegetables, loved to hunt and fish, and was especially fond of her chainsaw. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Barren Fork Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, Clarence Wayne Snell and wife Kathy of Wasola; two daughters, Cindy Taylor of Wasola and Charlotte Dickson and fiancé Tim Colvin of Foristell; five grandchildren, Melissa Massey of Ava and Miranda Hambelton of Wasola, Brandi Miller and Chance Snell of Gainesville, Caleb Dickson of Sandy Springs, Ga.; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale Snell; her brothers Lyman Nance and Brandt Nance, and baby Wayne; sister Charlene (Nance) Thomas; and granddaughter Myra Taylor. Burial will be at the Loftis Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Loftis Cemetery and can be left at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO directors.
