Ernest Welch, 68 years and 6 months old, passed away on November 21, 2017 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with all his family by his side.

Ernest was born May 21, 1949 in Ava, Mo to Virgil and Barbara (Lacy) Welch.

He was an Army Veteran and served in Vietnam from October 1969 to November 1970.

Ernest was a christian and a member of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed racing, cars, hunting , fishing and coon hunting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sue Welch, and one infant brother, Orvil Welch.

He is survived by his children, David Welch and wife, Lorna, and Lisa    Stevens, all of Ava, MO, five grandchildren, Taylor Welch, Sarah Stevens, Alexander Stevens, Derek Welch and Allison Myers, five great-grandchildren, Dante Lemm, Lyia Lemm, Kendall Welch, Zoey Myers and Jaxon Myers, one sister, Judy and Leon Laney, four brothers, Larry and Pat Welch, Jerry and Joyce Welch, Henry Welch and Lyle Welch and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ernest will be Monday, November 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 with cremation following services. Visitation will be Sunday Nov. 26th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment of his ashes will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri at a later date. Officiating will be Leon Laney.
