Esther "Granny" Davis
Ava, MO

Esther Deloris Davis, 98 years, 5 months, and 21 days old, passed to Heaven on September 13, 2015 at her daughter's home in Buffalo, MO with her family by her side.

Esther was born March 23, 1917 in Pansy, MO to Aaron and Lutisha (Hodges) Johnson. Esther was a life long resident of Douglas County.
She was a homemaker and had also worked as Custodian at the Ava Elementary School.

On Dec. 7, 1932 Esther and Earnest "Jack" Davis were united in marriage in Breeden, MO and to this union four children were born.

Esther was a Christian and attended the Faith Rock Church in Ava, MO.

She enjoyed traveling, going to church, planting flowers, going to auctions, making quilts and most of all she loved spending time with her family. Granny was Loved by all...and will be greatly missed.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, three sons, Larry, Delmar and Jimmie Davis, two sisters, Della Sharpton and Corda Pruiett, one brother, Arthur Johnson and a baby granddaughter.

Esther is survived by one daughter, Viola Irby, Buffalo, MO, ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren,
many nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Esther will be Wed., Sept 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Goodhope Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorials may be made to Goodhope Cemetery.
