Ethel May Posey, 90 years, passed to heaven on March 9, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.
Ethel was born June 2, 1920 in McDonald County, MO to Moses and Frankie Belle (Lewis) Proctor.
On July 4, 1936 Ethel and Audie Ray Posey were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union four children were born. Ethel enjoyed working on the farm with Audie. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Ethel was a member of the Goodhope General Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Audie Ray in 1993, her son Dale, whom was killed while serving in Vietnam, three great grandchildren, twin sister, Edith, half sisters, Pearl and Waneeta and a half brother, Ernest.
Ethel is survived by three children & their spouses, Jimmie & Janice Posey, Ava, MO, Dorothy & Raymond Fouard, Salina, KS and Linda & Tony Stillings, Ava, MO, nine grandchildren, several step grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ethel will be Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Goodhope Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Maxine Lund.
