EUGENE FREDERICK PASCOE
Eugene "Gene" Pascoe, Dora, MO, son of Marshall and Eva (Wright) Pascoe, was born December 8, 1925 in Detroit, MI and passed away March 17, 2009 in Springfield, MO at the age of 83 years.
On June 26, 1949 he was united in marriage to Jean Coones in Yuma, AZ and to this union three children were born. He was a retired Production Control Manager for Pitman Industries.
Gene was a Veteran having proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Signalman First Class. He spent most of his four years serving in the South Pacific. This is where his love for aviation began. Gene was a member of the E.A.A. National Organization since the early 1970's and a charter member of the E.A.A. Chapter 1218 in Willow Springs, MO since 1998. He was a member of the Rotary Club in south Kansas City, MO and also served as their President for a while. Gene loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He had a true love for life and everything in life. He will be greatly missed by all.
Gene is survived by his wife Jean Pascoe of the home in Dora, MO; two sons COL(Ret.) Michael C. Pascoe and wife Kay of Dothan, AL; Russell Pascoe and wife Nancy of Oologah, OK; one daughter Linda VanTreese and husband Ken of Broken Arrow, OK; six grandchildren Stacie VanTreese-Stricker, Colby Clay Pascoe, Justin David Pascoe, Jacob Eugene Pascoe, Kate Lynn Pascoe, Natalie Jean Pascoe; one brother MajGen(Ret.) Richard Pascoe and wife Sandy of Puyallup, WA; one sister Charlotte Robinson of Hamilton, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Evelyn Cooper, and two brothers James Marshall Pascoe and Robert Henry Pascoe.
A Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2009 in the E.A.A. Chapter 1218 hanger at the Willow Springs Municipal Airport, Willow Springs, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to E.A.A. Chapter 1218, 810 Bryan St., Willow Springs, MO 65793 to help support the Young Eagles Program.
Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
