EUGENE JACKSON STRONG

Eugene Jackson Strong, son of the late Marion and Lousie (Miller) Strong was born on September 29, 1928 at Zanoni, MO. He entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2018 at his residence at the age of 89 years.

On February 24, 1984 he was united in marriage to Louella Porter. He worked hard all his life. He was a mechanic, farmer, water well driller and did plumbing. In early years he loved hunting and fishing. He liked going to bluegrass festivals and in later years, having his family over and playing music for him.

He is survived by his wife, Louella Porter Strong; six children Al Strong of Caulfield, MO, Sandra Pendergrass and husband Larry of Dora, MO, Mike Strong of West Plains, MO, Pam Luna and husband Bob of Dora, MO, Janice Robertson and husband Jerry of Kingwood, TX, Connie McIntosh and husband Duke of Drury, MO; one step-son Joe Porter and wife Andrea of Springfield, MO; 16 grandchildren: Jeff Strong, Jesse Strong, JoDee Clarkson, Cody Strong, Debbie Strong, Kevin Luna, Rick Luna, Donnie Luna, Brad Green, Kristi Halseth, Brandon McIntosh, Cheyenne McIntosh, Traci Lee, Roger Pendergrass, Andrew Porter, Hannah Porter; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; two brothers Ray Strong and wife Golden of Hollister, MO and Dale Strong and wife Brenda of Gainesville, MO; one sister-in-law MaryAnn Strong of Baldwin City, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Lousie Strong; one brother Delbert Strong; one sister Ellaree Welch; one step-son James Porter and one special granddaughter Tina Pendergrass.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Ball Church of Christ in Dora, MO with David Shipley officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 25 ^th from 2-3 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Burial will be in the Eaton Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Eaton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
