Eula Mae (Heriford) Dye, 88

Eula Mae Dye, 88, of Ava, Missouri, passed away January 26, 2020 at Ava Place.  Eula Mae was born June 12, 1931 to Ira B. and Edith L. (Bruffett) Heriford.  She attended Thornfield School and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1949.

Eula Mae is survived three children and their spouses, Rick & Vicki Dye, Martin, TN, David & JoAnn Dye, Ava, MO and Malissa & Raymond Layland, Harrah, OK, six grandchildren, Jennifer Pate, Eric Dye, Chris Layland, Randall Dye, Marc Layland and Erin Center nine great grandchildren, Madison Layland, Garrett Dye, Charles Thomas Pate , Harley Layland, Gracie Dye, Ellie Dye, Nova Layland, Ethan Dye and Coraline Center.  One sister, Peggy Cutbirth of Ava, MO and one brother Ira B. Heriford, Jr. of Ava, MO, a special sister-in-law Delcie Heriford, numerous nieces and nephews, her friends at Highway Church and Ava Place.

Eula Mae was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Marjorie Loftin, three brothers: Leslie Heriford, Russell Heriford and Charles Heriford, and her husband of sixty-one years, Harley A. Dye of Ava, MO who died January 23, 2011.

Eula Mae worked in the Ava Elementary School Cafeteria before becoming the Receptionist for Dr. C.E. Harlan for seventeen years.  Eula Mae is probably best known for the thousands of homemade crescent rolls she made and gave to numerous people in the community.  She enjoyed reading, baking, sewing and serving as a teacher and faithful member of the Highway Church of The Nazarene.

Funeral services for Eula Mae will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Sweden Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 31st  from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Shane Weaver.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweden Cemetery Fund, or Gideons International.
