Eva Louise Painter

Ava, Missouri

Eva Louise Painter, 96 years, 7 months, 27 days old, passed away on May 21, 2018 at Ava Place.

Eva was born September 25, 1921 in Arden, MO to Abraham Lincoln and Beulah (Williams) Baird.

On May 11, 1940 Eva and Marvin Etcyl Painter were united in marriage at Ozark, MO and were blessed with four children.

Eva taught in a rural one room school before marriage and rode a horse to school. Later she and Etcyl taught together in a rural school. Eva also worked at the Ava School in the cafeteria before retiring.

Eva loved the area music shows, flea markets, fishing, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed her flowers and her small garden which provided lots of vegatables and strawberries.

Eva was a Christian and a member of Pleasant Ridge Church at West Dogwood and attended Ava  General Baptist Church in Ava in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Etcyl, son, Lyndell Dean Painter, grandson, Joshua Painter, sister, Thelma Philpott, brother, Lincoln Burrel Baird and a brother-n-law, Donald Philpot.

Eva is survived by daughter-n-law, Evelyn (Wooten) Painter, Halfway, MO, daughter, Carolyn Scrivner and husband, Jerry,  Nixa, MO, son, Dennis Painter and wife Martha, Baldwin City, KS, and son, Connie Painter, Marshall, MO,

six grandchildren, Missi Painter (John Shaver), Michael Painter (Marjorie), Lori McMullin (Jeff), Julie Hobart, Michelle Tatum(Michael) and Jonah Painter, fifteen great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Mary (Mag) Blevins Baird and Geraldine Bowers Painter, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Eva will be Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Clinkingbeard Chapel,  Ava, MO  with burial following in the Dogwood Cemetery Visitation will be Friday, May 25th 1:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.  Memorials may be made to Dogwood cemetery.
