Evelyn Ruth Adams, 74 years, 4 months, 5 days old, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri with her family by her side.

Evelyn was born September 1, 1951, in Gassville, Arkansas to Kerman and Irene (Smith) McSwain. The family moved from Thornfield to Ava when Evelyn was a young child. She attended the Ava schools and graduated from Ava High School in 1969.

On March 28, 1970, Evelyn and Kenny Adams were united in marriage in Ava, Missouri and together were blessed with two sons, Brian and Brad.

Evelyn was employed with Emerson/Copeland in Ava for over 40 years. She made many life time friends there. Evelyn was a hard worker.

Evelyn was a born again Christian and attended the Black Oak Church.

Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family! In addition, she enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jewell Blake, Tommy, Howard, and Gene McSwain.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Kenny; sons, Brian (Kelly) Adams and Brad (Becky) Adams; grandchildren, Drew Adams, Lauren Mendel, Zach Mendel, Reece Adams, Blayne Mendel, Wyatt Johnson, Hunter Adams, Preston Adams, Ryder Johnson, and Harper Adams; her brother, Junior (Janet) McSwain, her sister, Kimberly McSwain; many nieces; nephews; extended family and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be Saturday, January 10, 2026, 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. A visitation will be prior to the service at 9:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor David Dodson and Chaplain Van Mitchell.
