Evelyn L. Croney the daughter of Elmer Smith and Pearl (Heath) Cook was born Sept. 10, 1940 in Bertha, Missouri and departed this life Aug. 3, 2006 at the age of 65 years 10 months and 23 days.
Evelyn was a life long resident of the Ava area. On June 20, 1958 Evelyn and William W. Croney were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union three children were born. Evelyn was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.
Evelyn enjoyed fishing, quilting and loved being with her family. She delighted in caring for her great grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, and her husband, William in 1996. She is survived by her mother, Pearl Cook, Ava, Mo, three children, Tammy Sanders, West Plains, Mo, Rick Croney, Ava, MO, Angela Lane, Clarksville, TN, six grandchildren, Robbie Lane, Clayton Presson, Ronnie Croney, Ricky Croney, Tracy Fitzgerald and William Croney, six step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services are Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Loftin officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
