Evelyn Irene Twitty, 83 years, 8 months, 29 days old, passed away on January 30, 2017 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava.

Evelyn was born May 1, 1933 in Browning, Illinois to William Everett and Sarah Orpha (Bollinger) McCombs.

Evelyn Irene McCombs and Oliver Stanley Twitty were united in marriage in Illinois.


Evelyn was a Christian and a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Wasola, Missouri.

Evelyn enjoyed reading books, working in her garden and being outdoors in nature. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, one brother, and two sisters.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Becky Wyant, one son, DJ Twitty and wife Tina, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren with one on the way and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wasola, Missouri with cremation to follow. Visitation is Thursday at 10:00 A.M. to service time in the church. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts and Rev. Maxine Lund.

Memorials may be made to the Piland Youth Camp.
