EVERETT GLEN LOFTIS
Everett Glen Loftis, 91, of Thornfield, MO passed to heaven on September 11, 2011 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born on December 19, 1919 in Romance, MO the son of William and Eliza (Ludwig) Loftis.
Everett grew up in Romance where he attended elementary school, before coming to Gainesville High School. After graduating from Gainesville, he taught elementary school at Romance until he entered the military. Everett served two years in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he moved to Detroit, MI where he began his career at Chrysler. He retired from a management position after 50 years with the company. Everett moved back to the Ozarks in 1995. He loved to fish and hunt. Everett was a Christian and attended the Barren Fork Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eliza Loftis; two brothers Clyde and Clinton Loftis; and one sister Cora Warden. He is survived by his two sons Kevin Loftis and wife Cindy of McComb, MI and Roger Loftis and wife Joan of Armada, MI; four grandchildren; and two sisters Earlene West of Springfield, MO and Maxine Miller of Independence, MO.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in the Ava Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Officiating will be E.J. Hampton. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
