Evie Hope Wray

Evie Hope Wray passed away Thursday Evening, March 20, 2008. She was 8 years old and born on February 9, 2000. Evie attended Lutie Elementary School in her hometown of Theodosia, Missouri and was in the second grade. She was one of many siblings from a large, loving family.

Evie's brother and partner in crime, JD, worked together on the family farm helping their dad feed cattle and keeping him company on his jobs. She was never afraid to be a girly-girl, yet she was always the first to jump in the mud. Evie's life revolved around the color pink, music, animals (mainly kittens), and riding her 4-wheeler.

Evie was known to have a special ability to touch the lives of all those she came into contact with from the elders at church to her young classmates. Evie basked in the attention she received singing in the church choir, her favorite hymn was "I am Blessed." At family events, she was always the center of attention with her contagious laughter and her angelic spirit.

Although the family grieves and misses her greatly, they realize that Evie was simply given a shortcut to heaven leaving the rest of us behind. Evie loved when her family referred to her as a "Princess." Our hearts are at ease knowing that our little princess lives on with her Grandparents Gracie and Elmer Wray in heaven.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 2:00 pm, Lutie School Gym in Theodosia, Missouri, with Don Yarger officiating. Burial will follow at Lutie Cemetery,
Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House, Lutie Cemetery, and there has been a fund set up for the family at Century Bank of the Ozarks, any of these can be dropped off at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville or mailed to the Funeral Home at P.O. Box 65 Gainesville, Missouri 65655
