Faye Case

Ava, Missouri

Faye Laverne Case, 91 years, 11 months, 12 days old, passed to her Heavenly home on December 21, 2017 with her family by her side and her special caregiver, Ashley Beavers.

Faye was born January 9, 1926 in Squires, MO to Arvel and Velma (Spurlock) Davis.

Faye was a Christian and a longtime member of the Ava General Baptist Church. She was a retired public school teacher. She had taught school in Ava and other local schools for 32 1/2 years!

On August 21, 1949,  Faye and Mervin Roy Case were united in marriage at Ava, MO. They were blessed with two daughters, Marsha and Rebecca (Becki).

Faye was also a member of MSTA, Delta Kappa Gamma, and The Ladies  Missionary Society of the Ava General Baptist Church.  She enjoyed singing and for years she sang in the community with the "Ladies Trio." They sang for church services and many funerals. Faye also enjoyed teaching English and keeping up with her students. Another joy was her writing, she had written and published three poetry books. Most of all she loved being with her family and following her grandchildren in their endeavors.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mervin in 2006.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Marsha (Case) O'Briant, Branson, MO and Becki (Case) Bright and husband, Alan, Nixa, MO, three grandchildren, Dawnelle O'Briant Payne, Darrell O'Briant, Lyndon O'Briant, and three great-grandchildren, Jayden O'Briant, Colson & Keagen Payne, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Faye will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Dec. 27, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to service time in the funeral home.  Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
