FLOETTA GARDNER WILLIAMSON
Floetta Gardner Williamson, 79, Thornfield, MO passed from this life on January 15, 2010 surrounded by loved ones. She was injured in a fall in her home earlier in the evening. She was born April 5, 1930 in Souder, MO to Ruby Olen Gardner and Verna (Prock) Gardner, who both preceded her in death.
She was the oldest of six and was preceded in death by all of her brothers, Eugene, Neil, and a baby, Little Claude. She is survived by both sisters, Elma Collins of Gainesville, MO and Evalyn Franks of Wichita, KS.
On December 14, 1946 she married her "One and Only Love" Raymond Williamson in Mountain Home, AR, making their anniversary last month their 63rd. She mothered five children Geraldine Hartman (husband Norman) of Gainesville, MO, Ernestine Castleberry (husband Allen) of Cairo, GA, Raymond Williamson II (wife Ada) of Grand Bay, AL, Betty Angloni of Nottinghill, MO, and Debra Ratterree (husband David) of Springfield, MO. She had 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is loved and will be missed by so many more.
Flo did genealogical research and had written three books about her family lines. She was a seamstress and quilter. She loved handwork and crafts. Often she sat with those who were suffering due to illness or the loss of a loved one; always having some piece of work with which to keep her hands busy. She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ, attending Gainesville church of Christ for over 20 years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Gainesville church of Christ building. Interment will be in the Souder Cemetery, Souder, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO.
