Frances "Fran" Noella Burke

Frances "Fran" Noella Burke, 69 years, 5 months, and 20 days old, passed to heaven on July 1, 2013 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.

Fran was born January 12, 1944 in Providence, RI to Angelo and Ruth (Larsh) Palmisano.

Fran was a resident of the Ava community for several years.
On May 26, 1962 Fran and James "Jim" Burke were united in marriage in Bellingham, MA and to this union one daughter, Angie was born.

She was a retired Machine Operator from Copeland Corporation in Ava, MO and she also worked for Hagales Clothing Co. in Ava for several years.

She was a longtime member of First General Baptist Church in Ava. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Silver Sneakers. Fran enjoyed painting, doing crafts, gardening, fishing and especially being with her grandchildren.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Michael Palmisano and a brother-in-law, Mike Munschy.


Fran is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Burke, Ava, MO, one daughter and husband, Angie & Chris Burress, Ava, MO, two grandchildren, Dustin Burress and Jessica Burress, one great grandson, Artemis Adams, two sisters, Evelyn Munschy and Nancy Palmisano both of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Services for Fran will be Friday, July 5, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Marvin Wray and Pastor James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
