Francis Melvin Dye Jr.

Francis Melvin Dye Jr.,  90 years, 11 months, and 18 days old, passed away on March 21, 2025, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center, in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Francis was born April 3, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, to Francis and Frances (Molster) Dye.

On May 3, 1952, Francis and Maxine Moore were united in marriage.  They lived in Ohio before moving their family to California. They lived there for 20 years before moving to Ava, Missouri.

Francis worked as a truck driver and electrician.  He enjoyed boating and fishing.  Francis also liked woodworking, fixing cars, and building houses.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; children, Gary Dye and his wife Terry, Larry Dye, and Joe Dye; his brother, Richard Dye.

Francis is survived by his children, Cheryl (Robert) Crossen, Debbie  (Jimmy) Honeycut, Sheila (Ron) Coffey, James (Rosa) Dye, Sonny Joe (Heather) Dye, and Frank Dye; sisters, Jeanine Swarz, and Roberta Arnold of Akron, Ohio; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Francis will be Friday, April 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM, in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri.  Cremation services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri per Francis request.  Burial will be in the Ava cemetery.
