Frank McDaniel

Frank McDaniel, 77 years, passed away on August 15, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO from a short illness with his children by his side.

Frank was born January 29, 1936 in Wasola, MO to James "Jim" and Hattie (Frye) McDaniel.

Frank was a lifelong resident of Ozark County.
He was a Korean veteran and served with the U.S. Navy and Marines. He served approximately 12 years.

Frank was an entreprenuer. He worked 24/7. He owned and operated various businesses in the community such as; dairy farming, restaurant, real estate, furniture store and etc. He also served for 10 years as a Fireman in Springfield, MO.

He was a devout Christian and of the Baptist faith.
Frank enjoyed working and was always thinking of ways to grow and build for the community. He loved being with his family and eating his sister's cornbread.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Vonda, (the mother of his children) and Patricia, eight brothers and sisters; Wasene Solomon, Andy McDaniel, Gerry Lawson, Roy & Ray McDaniel, Bobbie McDaniel, Betty Riley, Ruth Hunter and Garmin McDaniel and his uncle, John William McDaniel.


Frank is survived by two children, Lisa Frye and partner, Billy Abshire, Sparta, MO and John McDaniel and wife, Melody, Thornfield, MO, six grandchildren; Jessica Estrada, Jim Frye, Jill Frye, Julie Frye, Sonya McDaniel and Nick McDaniel, five great grandchildren; Eli, Braden, Laela, Mylie and Grant and one-on-the-way, four sisters; Hester Tidwell, Lavona Twitty, Linda Welch and Polly Boyd, special friends and other relatives.

Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A family memorial will be at a later date and time.
