Fred A. Cruz, 77 years, passed away from a long illness on February 21, 2010 at his home with his family by his side.
Fred was born September 16, 1932 in Azusa, CA to Cleo and Audrey (Acosta) Cruz.
On November 24, 1951 Fred and Mary Emily Marquez were united in marriage in LaPuente, CA and to this union six children were born. Fred was a retired welder and had worked for Hutchins Industries and also for Emerson Electric in Ava. Fred was a resident of the Ava community since 1977 moving from California. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church of Ava. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He loved being with all his family and delighted in family gatherings. He adored his grand and great grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Audrey Cruz and his wife, Mary Emily in 2002.
Fred is survived by his six children, Martha Stewart, Louella Herrera and Roberta Williams all of Ava, MO, Valerie Cruz, Thornfield, MO, Christopher and Clifford Cruz both of Ava, MO, four grandchildren, Deanna & Richard Herrera, Amber & Christopher Cruz, two great grandchildren, Alex & Antonio Estrada, two sisters Judy Vasquez, Cucamonga, CA and Linda Gerrero, Fallbrook, CA and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A memorial will be at a later date and time.
