FREDA MAE CLAYTON
Freda Mae Clayton, 76, of Theodosia, MO passed away on August 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born on November 26, 1936 in Squires, MO, the daughter of John and Sally (Earles) Hodges.
On August 28, 1957 Freda was united in marriage to Rayford Clayton in Mountain Home, AR. They built a house just north of Theodosia, MO on the land that Rayford's family had homesteaded years earlier. Freda lived there the rest of her life. She was proud of her home and took very good care of it. She enjoyed working outside in her yard and loved her flowers. She also enjoyed reading, and would often times read a book a day. She worked for several years for Spaulding Sporting Goods in Ava, MO. Freda was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Rayford Clayton of the home in Theodosia, MO and several extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and one son Dennis.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Hicks Cemetery with David Mahan officiating. Memorials may be made to the Hicks Cemetery, or to the family as a Love Offering. On line condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
