Freda Fay Hector, 82 years, 6 months, and 12 days old, passed to Heaven on April 9, 2014 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.
Freda was born September 27, 1931 in Lake City, AR, to Herbert and Carmen (Williams) Adams.
Freda was a resident of the Ava Place for the past 7 months and has been a resident of Ava since 1984. In 1949 Freda and James Richard Rhoads were united in marriage in Jonesboro, AR and to this union three children were born. James preceded her in death on December 4, 1988. On April 10, 1999, Clyde Hector and Freda Rhoads were united in marriage in Napa Valley, CA at Napa Valley General Baptist Church. She was a Christian and a member of the Ava General Baptist Church. Freda enjoyed many hobbies over the years such as ceramics, sewing, yard sales and collecting. In later years, she and Clyde enjoyed traveling the countryside and visiting with friends and family.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James Rhoads and Clyde Hector, a sister, Bertha Aguirra and her eldest son, Jimmy Ronald Rhoads.
Freda is survived by two sons, and their spouses, Joe Randy and Angela Rhoads, Marietta, GA and Gary Wayne and Judy Rhoads, Rochester, MI, daughter-in-law, Marcia Rhoads, three grandchildren, Kalynn Rhoads, Steven Rhoads, and Jonathon Rhoads, one great grandchild, Drake Rhoads, two sisters, Lee Burrow and Vonda Bashore, both of West Plains, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Freda will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, MO. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Ava Place or Ava General Baptist ChurchVisits: 0
