Frieda Earlene Myers, age 82, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Frieda was born on January 15, 1938 in Thornfield, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Haskins and Effie (Nooncaster) Haskins, who preceded her in death.
Frieda graduated grade school from Thornfield School and spent her childhood following closely behind her father and helping on the farm. Frieda married C.H. Myers Jr. on February 14, 1958 and began a long life together raising their family and farming in Ocie, MO.
Along with farming, she also held jobs at a shirt factory, upholstery factory, drove a local head start bus, and Theodosia Marina. Frieda was always busy, whether she was helping check cows, tending to her garden, or cooking up a big meal for her family, she was on the move at all times. She loved to cook and bake; there were always many special requests from her kids and grandkids.
Frieda was also very musically inclined; she seemed most happy when she was singing or playing her guitar or autoharp. She was asked to sing and play often for her church family.
Frieda said countless times, "I just like people" and had many, many friends. She loved to visit and tell stories with any and all who would listen. She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Frieda is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (Myers) Johnson and her husband Bobby, of Springfield, MO; a son, Sam Myers and his wife Teresa, of Theodosia, MO; a daughter-in-law, Melisa, of Theodosia, MO; a daughter, Tena (Myers) Harman and her husband Marty, of Walnut Grove, MO.
