GAROLD (GARY) HUMFELD
Garold (Gary) Humfeld, 57, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008. Gary was born November 20, 1950 in El Paso, TX to Jen and Harold E. Humfeld. He and Martha Cravens Stewart were married April 15, 1988.
Gary graduated from Central Missouri State at Warrensburg, MO with a degree in Physics. He started his career at sawmills, which he loved and went on to retire after 25+ years at Lockheed Martin as an Aerospace Engineer. After retirement he turned in his suits and corporate lifestyle to pursue his first loves of fishing, farming, and outdoors life. He was a devoted reader and loved science fiction. He loved his friends and family. He loved exploring, adventure, science, and learning about the world. He was introspective and loved the more simple things in life- nature, birds, flowers and all creatures big and small. He had immense intelligence and was the role model of patience and kindness to others.
Gary is survived by one child, Amber Humfeld, who he adored, and three stepchildren, Kristian Stewart, Jennifer Stallings, and Anna Stewart, which he raised with love, patience, and understanding; also survived by his wife Martha of the home in Gainesville, MO; his father Harold Humfeld of Fort Worth, TX; sister Mary K. Humfeld of New York, NY; 3 grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jen Humfeld, in May of this year. He was adored and greatly loved and will be terribly missed.
Local services will be Thursday, June 26, 2008, 2:00 PM at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Pam Ekey officiating. A separate service with burial following will take place in Fort Worth, TX on Saturday, June 28th.
