Geneva Lee Brown

Geneva Lee Brown, 82 years, 8 months, and 15 days old, passed away at her home in Springfield, Missouri, on May 15, 2024 with her family by her side.

Geneva was born August 30, 1941 in Balcom, Illinois to Jackson and Minnie (Volner) Powell.

She was a Christian and  a very religious person.  She loved attending prayer meetings and listening to Bible Studies.  She enjoyed nature, going on hikes and her animals.  She loved her family very much.

On September 14, 1959, Geneva and Richard Brown were married in Rochelle, Illinois.  Together they had three children, Tammy, Douglas, and Dale.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; and brother, Lloyd.

Geneva is survived by her children, Douglas Brown and wife, Denise, Steven Dale Brown and wife, Jeanette, and Tammy Pulliam; five grandchildren, Kiaya Akromis and husband, Richard, Benjamin Brown, Melissa Brown, Jessica Brown, and Danielle Pulliam; one great-grandchild, Kyrie Godby; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Geneva will be Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM   in the Ava Cemetery with burial to follow.  Officiating will be Douglas Brown.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
