George Alexander Kaberlein, 78 years, passed away on March 29, 2011 at St.John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO.
George was born June 24, 1932 in Chicago, IL to George and Marie (Schaefer) Kaberlein.
On December 19, 1962, George and Geraldine "Geri" Olga Schiel were united in marriage in Chicago, IL and to this union three children were born.
George was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Ava and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
George was a resident of Ava for the past 12 years moving from Chicago, IL. He was a retired Truck Mechanic and a 50 year member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in Chicago, IL.
He enjoyed traveling and got the opportunity to visit Ireland, Australia, Hawaii and many other destinations. He also loved working on anything mechanical and enjoyed trips to Branson, MO.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine, "Geri",one son, Gerald Andrew, an infant daughter, Myrtle and one brother, Joseph R.
George is survived by one son & wife,George Adam & Lisa Kaberlein, Ava, MO, two grandchildren, Jeremiah Alexander Kaberlein and Alaina Nicole Kaberlein, an aunt, Ann Holzman, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass for George will be Monday, April 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Father Paul Wightman and Deacon Joe Kurtenbach. Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011, 2:00 p.m. in the Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the care of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
