GEORGE W. "BILL" KASTNING

George W. "Bill" Kastning, 62, of Brixey, MO passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at John C. McClellan VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR, with his family at his side.

Bill was born to Doyle and Patricia Kastning on November 20, 1950, at Weeping Water, Nebraska. He graduated from Ponca High School, Ponca, Nebraska in 1969. He volunteered to serve his country in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was employed as an over the road truck driver for many years and worked for Copeland Industries in Ava, MO before being disabled.

Bill enjoyed life and the company of his children, family, and many friends throughout his years on this earth. He is survived by his son, Mike Kastning and wife Jamie of Elk Point, South Dakota; his daughters, Gina Navarrette of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Chrissy Curry of New Braunfels, Texas; eight grandchildren, Michael, Abby, Nora, Patrick, Angelina, Ruby, Nicholas and Shelby. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Kastning of Salesville, AR; three brothers, Doyne Kastning of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Bob Kastning and wife Lana of Ponca, Nebraska, Kevin Kastning of Brixey, MO and one sister, Irene Lewis and husband Larry of Salesville, AR; and also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Kastning.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Souder Church of Christ with Bro. E.J. Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Souder Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4-5 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO.
