George Howard Phillips, Jr., 73 years, 8 months, 10 days old, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.

George was born June 10, 1952, in Silver Creek, New York, to George Howard Sr. and Florence Cecile (Binner) Phillips.

He grew up in southwest Missouri and New York state.

He loved to travel, fish, play bingo, drink coffee, and spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Rose Jones, Larry Phillips, Wallace McCarthy, and Tessie Miller.

George is survived by his children, Robert (April) Phillips, and Gary (Tammy) Phillips; grandchildren, Jacob (Harley) Phillips, and Andrew (Tyler) Phillips; great grandchildren, Silas, Luna, Charlie, Amelia, and Orion; his siblings, Charlotte Schifferle, Donald Phillips; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for George will be Friday, February 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM, in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri, with a visitation prior to the service at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Murray cemetery.
