George Howard Plaster, 90 years, 7 months, 11 days old, passed away on December 31, 2017 at his home with his son, Glen and family by his side.
Howard was born May 20, 1927 in Almartha, MO to George Washington and Minnie (Welch) Plaster.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. Howard was a retired Wasola Mail Carrier and dairy and beef farmer. He also was Manager of Western Auto in Ava, MO for 24 years.
In the fall of 1949 Howard and Virginia Lucille Kelley were united in marriage in Hartville, MO and they were blessed with a son, Glen.
Howard was a Christian and had attended church at Almartha, Souder and Wasola. He was volunteer fireman and board member of the Wasola Fire Dept. for several years. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting, bluegrass music, and loved caring for his animals.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia in 2015, a grandson, Travis Plaster, a daughter-in-law, Catherine Plaster, and four brothers, Dale, Roy, Floyd, and Bill Plaster.
Howard is survived by his son, Glen and wife, Patricia Wasola, MO, grandchildren, Lillie Eaton, Rebecca Prock and Ethan Prock,
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Howard will be Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Souder Cemetery, Wasola. Visitation will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be E.J. Hampton. Memorials may be made to Souder Cemetery.Visitation
