George Young

Ava, Missouri

George Earl Young, 71 years, 6 months, 14 days old, passed away July 5, 2018 at Glenwood Healthcare, Seymour, MO with his family by his side.

George was born December 22, 1946 in Ava, MO to Lester and Barbara (Evans) Young.

He was a Butcher for 30 years and then he retired as a Federal Meat Inspector.

On July 1, 1966 George and Janice Allen were united in marriage at Ava, MO and were blessed with two children, Robyn and Tim. They had just celebrated 52 years of marriage!

George was a member of Gentry Church. He was a talented, gifted musician and could play any instrument that was put in his hands and had a beautiful singing voice. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. George's joy was his family and especially his grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, two children and their spouses, Robyn & Craig Denney, Ava, MO, Tim & Shannon Young,  Oklahoma City, OK, six grandchildren,  four great grandchildren, one brother and wife, Kenneth & Elizabeth Young, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for George will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Denney Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be prior to service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
