Gerald Wright, 86 years, passed away on December 30, 2012 at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava, MO.
Gerald was born April 28, 1926 in Douglas County, MO to Austin and Eva (Howard) Wright.
Gerald lived most of his life in Douglas County. Growing up he enjoyed working on the family farm. He had also worked as a mechanic with the U.S. Defense in Wichita, KS and the shipyards in Richmond, CA.
He was a member of the Happy Home Church in Ava. He enjoyed drawing, mechanic work and his main joy was picking his guitar and singing.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Irene Epps, Laverne Owen and Norma Lambert and one brother, Leo Wright.
Gerald is survived by one sister, Josephine Peebles, Ava, MO, brother-in-law, Adrain Owen, Ava, MO, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service for Gerald will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Goodhope Cemetery with Pastor Lyle Wright officiating. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
