Geraldine Lovan
Geraldine Lovan, 74 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born May 31, 1942, the daughter of Harley and Lois (Trail) Smith.
Geraldine was married to the love of her life, Glen Lovan, on September 5, 1959 in Gainesville, Missouri.
Geraldine worked and gave to others her entire life. She was known by many as Dr. M.J. Hoerman's nurse, but many also knew her as a kind and caring member of the social services team at the Ozark County Division of Family Services. It was not unusual for her to try to help those she served not only during working hours, but at night and on her weekends as well. She continued her tireless service until she retired in 2002.
Her family was also her passion. She and her husband, Glen, never missed a grandchild's ballgame or school program. She was loved and respected by many.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Dianna Sue Brundige and her husband, Danny of Yellville; Debra Ann Jeckstadt and her husband, Roger, of Gainesville; and Justin Glen Lovan and his wife, Angie, of Gainesville. Grandchildren, Casey Marie Morgan of Dora; Robert William Simpson of Springfield; Ethan Jeckstadt and his wife, Kayla, of Mountain Home; Audrey Rose Lovan, Kady Lynn Lovan, and Ivey Jean Lovan all of Gainesville; Travis Brundige, Zackary Brundige, and Trenton Brundige of Flippin, Arkansas. Great-grandchildren: Austin Kent Eslinger, Taylor Marie Morgan, Daniel Joseph (DJ) Morgan, Makayla Grace Morgan all of Dora; and Emma and Kaleb Jeckstadt of Mountain Home. One sister, Freda Evans of Mountain Home; two brothers, Steve Smith and his wife Judy of Willow Springs and Robby Smith and his wife Dana of Drury; two brother-in-laws, Lowell Lovan and his wife Sally of Dora; and Steve Rackley of Dora; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; one sister, Patsy Rackley, and brother-in-law, Doyle Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Ball Church of Christ in Dora, MO with David Shipley officiating. Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Gainesville, MO. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
