Gertrude Reese

Gertrude Reese the daughter of Walter Deckard and Ethel Mae (Whitaker) Deckard was born Aug. 22, 1924 in Brown Branch, Missouri and departed this life March 28, 2007 at the age of 82 years 7 months and 6 days.

Gertrude was a resident of Springfield, MO for several years moving from McClurg, MO. On March 8, 1946 Gertrude and Gerald Lyons were united in marriage in Harrison, AR. Gertrude and Gerald were blessed with two sons. Mr. Lyons precedes Gertrude in death. On August 6, 2004 Gertrude and Albert Reese were united in marriage in Oklahoma. Mr. Reese also precedes Gertrude in death.

Gertrude was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, shopping and visiting with friends. Most of all she loved being with her family.

Gertrude is survived by her two sons, Pat Lyons and Sharon, Theodosia, MO, Joe and Brenda Lyons, Azle, Texas, five grandchildren, Angela, Melissa, Clarissa, Mike and Mathew, two great grandchildren, Zachariah and Dylan, two sisters, Nona Mae Walker, Richland, WA, and Sarah Frances Owens, Mtn. Home, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sat. March 31, 2007 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo with the Rev. Robbie Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat. 1:00 P.M. until service time. Memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery.
